The Lion Singer and Elephant Dancer will have to be editied in terms of drawings - I simply pasted in photos of the rough drawings I'm working on. The thought is that the three books together could form a paperback reader called 'The Tiger Biker and Friends'.

  1. If you have three stories that length, and keep your images nice and big, then I think you could hit 24 pages. Think 5 x 8 or 5.25 x 8. That will be the size of a supermarket paperback (although much thinner, of course). You could go bigger, but then you'll have a ton of white space on your pages with the words--which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but definitely something to think about. Check out paperbacks that have the look you want and see what they do with font size and white space per page.

  2. Thanks! So can I go ahead and work on the images? I want to do a few more pictures for the Lion Singer and the Elephant Dancer.
Also, I've been thinking - if I include some worksheets/questions about each one it could be turned into a reader/workbook combination.

  3. You could absolutely flesh out the length like that--let's see how many
pages it comes in at to begin with. Do you have original image files?

  4. I'd have to scan them, and I want to do a bit more work on them - so, no, except for the Tiger Biker images, not at present.

  5. Update - The Lion Singer now has nine drawings (in pencil stage - inking come next!) and I'm thinking of the same number for The Elephant Dancer).
