I'm trying to use facebook for professional purposes. That's means interacting with teachers worldwide and getting involved in the ongoing discussions. However, I think that's not easy with all the distractions which are unavoidable most of the time. Connecting to people you don't know is very familiar now and what is really weird and even abusrd is some people send you friend request -means they want to become your friends-and when you accept them they do nothing at all to interact with you.
ReplyDeleteDorothy E. Zemach I like the idea of this project. Also I mentioned in another post I think something related to FB for education purposes. The chapter I wrote for the CALL book related to using FB groups to enhance Language skills, perhaps that could be an interesting project to embark as well! Thanks for all the interesting ideas!
ReplyDeleteaziz soubai I agree with you Aziz, people just sometimes want to connect for the wrong purposes or sometimes they feel awkward about interacting and knowing when to do it and how ... social media can be tricky!
aziz soubai, That's so true! When I check out people's pages and there is no English there at all... I can't figure out why they would want to be connected to me. Just collectors, I guess??
ReplyDeleteSo many people could learn from your project, Dorothy E. Zemach. Maintaining an attractive and at the same time professional social network profile is quite a skill. I am very careful about what and how often I post on fb. I hope I'm on the right track :)
