Hello there.

Hello there. I'm Ruthie Iida and I live and work in Japan. I'm the owner of and head teacher at a private language school for children and young adults. During the week we teach nursery age through junior high students, and on Saturdays we focus on high school and college students. I just finished getting my Master's degree in TESOL and am busy trying to implement what I learned about language acquisition so my students will grow up to USE and SPEAK English.

I also have a huge closet full of crazy alphabet and phonics prints that I've made through the years and a MacBook full of papers, articles, and potential blog posts about language and language acquisition. I write and write, but never know what to do with the fruits of my labours. Do you see why I need to take this course? I may not be able to attend many of the live sessions, but I'll do my best to keep up with the work, read others' work, and comment in the community. Looking forward to meeting everyone here!

  4. Hi Ruthie - Great to have another transplant in Japan doing the course. I probably won't be able to do the live sessions either. Where are you exactly? I'm near Osaka.
